176001 from December 24, 1999) with Gauzen’s helmet as logo.
2000 - Orbeli’s descendants official permission for rights to
name after Ruben Orbeli for HDS Russia
2001 - determination of the main rules and regulations in the
national and international contacts of HDS Russia.
2002 - HDS Russia successful re-registration as a legal entity.
Since 2002 – publication of scientific works of HDS Russia.

At the age of 89 passed away the member of HDS Russia, II WW veteran,
well-known scientist, teacher, pedagogue and author of numerous scientific
and popular works.

HDS Russia took part in the Conference held
by the Confederation of Underwater Activity of Russia and was awarded by
the Medal “50 years of KPDR”.

N8 of “The History of Russian
Diving” devoted to the history of deep-diving in USSR and consisted from
articles written by Gennadiy Sokolov, Boris Pavlov and Vladimir Smolin was
issued.

The book under the title
“Underwater sport in the USSR”
collected from participants of diving origin memories was issued in Moscow.
The Orbeli brothers Institute was created in SPb. The official day of
organization is June 10, the date of birth of Varvara
Argoutinskaya-Dolgorukova, brothers Orbeli mother. Dr. Alexander Sledkov
become the member of staff of that organization.

Georges Koskas, president HDS France visit
to St.Petersburg, where had a meetings with Alexander Sledkov. They
exchanged last issues of magazines and had
discussion about some questions of diving history.
