The Society members have written a number
of interesting books and articles. Among works issued last year we should
like to indicate to the book written by Pavel Borovikov "Diving of
Russia" and his album “An Illustrated history of Russian
diving”, 3-volume textbook “Deep-diving and its Medical
Providing” written by Vladimir Smolin, Gennadiy Sokolov and Boris
Pavlov which include many historical fragments, and book by Alexander
Korolev “Diving Practice in Russia from Ancient Time to Present
Days” devoted to facts of penetration of Russian people into
submarine space with and without equipment, in mini-subs and underwater
laboratories.
HDS Russia owing to sponsors support
edited 6 issues of bilingual journal.
1st issue written
by Director of HDS Russia Dr.Alexander Sledkov was devoted to the history
of diving in Russia
and abroad in general.
2nd issue written
by American Nyle Monday and A.Sledkov was devoted to the diver’s mask
invented by a Japanese Watanabe Riichi which was called in Soviet Union as «raid» mask.
3rd issue written
by George Rogachev was devoted to the collection of diving equipment of the
Central Navy Museum
in St.Petersburg.
4th issue written
by the veteran of II WW Vladimir Tiurin devoted to Soviet frogmen division
action during blockade of Leningrad
in 1940-s.
5th issue written by Pavel Borovikov was
devoted to the history of Russian diving since 1917 to 1923.
6th issue is
consisted from 3 articles. 1st written by Alexander Korolev is
devoted to development of science diving in USSR, Pavel Borovikov described
British influence to Russian ventilated equipment in 2nd article
and 3rd article written
by Alexander Sledkov was devoted to appearance of Dean brothers helmet in
Russia in the end of 1830-s.
Issue 7 is consisted 2
articles. 1st is memories of famous Russian diver Feoktist
Shpakovich written from his words in 60-s; 2nd written by
Alexander Sledkov devoted to story of appearance of Rennie’s diving
bell in Russia in 1820-s.
Issue 8 consisted from the
articles written by Gennadiy Sokolov, Boris Pavlov and Vladimir Smolin
devoted to the deep-diving record 1956 and deep-diving in USSR.
